較早前外國傳媒報導，前NBA球星Lamar Odom在妓院不省人事，並被送往醫院進行搶救，生命危在旦席。對此，NBA圈內非常關注，而一眾球星，特別是曾與Odom作為隊友的球員更加為他不斷送上祝福，其中包括Dwyane Wade、LeBron James以及Chris Paul。
Wade在得知Odom病危的消息後，第一時間已經在其Twitter上發了幾則消息，稱自己跪下為Odom祈禱，希望神可以讓他的好兄弟度過這次難關。

其後Wade又表示：「昨晚我睡不到，我就坐著並想著Odom，想著他這一生所經歷的各種事情。」
I couldn’t sleep last night. sitting and thinking about LO as the person I know him as and thinking about what he has gone thru in his life
經過一個夜晚後，Wade再發Twitter表示：「今天早晨我又為我的兄弟祈禱。親愛的上帝，他是好人中的一個，請照顧他，聆聽他內心的聲音 #為Odom祈禱」

而LeBron James則在他的IG上載了他與Odom一同效力美國隊時的舊照片，並為對方祝福。
LBJ表示：「我為你送上很多次祈禱Odom！我真心希望這不是你的最後一站，因為你還有很多東西可以發揮，不只是對其他人，對你自己而言更加重要。你永遠不知道其他人在經歷什麼事情，除非自己也經歷過他們的事情。別妄下判斷。振作起來我的家人！」
So many prayers sent up to you LO! I truly hope this isn’t the last stop for you because you still have so much to give, not even to others but to yourself more importantly. Never know what someone is going through unless you’re walking in their shoes. No judgement. Straight up homie!
Chris Paul在今天與黃蜂的熱身賽賽後的新聞發佈會上眼含淚水的祝福他的舊隊友Odom，他表示：「最後我想在此借這個機會鼓勵以及支持我的一位NBA兄弟：Lamar Odom。我們愛你，Odom，一定要繼續戰鬥！我們永遠都是兄弟，我們愛你，我們與你同在。」
O’neal、Baron Davis、Matt Barnes以及Paul Pierce也為Odom送上祝福。
